But seriously, though, how the hell did they get off that thing? There obviously wasn't any ship left; the only one was the Strahl.

Is it just me, or is "Dr. Cid" the greatest name ever? I suppose anything is made cooler if you add "Dr." in front of it. Nothing to do with this comic, but whatever.
